Need Help
I'm thinking about buying a 2005 x5 and want to know if I should. I actually live about 200 miles away from the closest dealership and I just want to know if I have trouble or just oil changing/maintenance, would it be worth it. Or could the service guys here (Meineke) do it for me?
Help before January! Thanks Dani |

Re: Need Help
Well to change your oil on the X5 your need a 17mm socket for the drain plug and a 36mm socket for the oil filter cap. If you dont have eather one of those then Jiffy lube looks like the place for you.

Re: Need Help
So then I wouldn't drive 200 miles to the dealership when I need my car serviced (oil change)?
That's one thing I'm worried about, and I talked to a guy and he told me that it would cost me $900 to have it serviced. Is it true? |

Re: Need Help
For an inspection 2 is would cost that much.
Inspection 2's consist of oil, filters (cabin, air, oil and gas) overall car inspection and wipers. A oil service is about 200-400$ What you would want is an inspection 1. Inspections 2's go every 60k I believe. |
