1995 Suburban Wiper Switch Replacement

I am going to be replacing the wiper/cruise switch on my sub, are there any tricks that I should know before starting the project?

Why are you replacing it?? I thought my switch on my 91 GMC was bad too, but found out it was the wiper control module on the wiper motor. Ta da.. It fixed it. Before it would somimes have a mind of its own or would not work when I needed it to..
