2000 Taurus SEL, burnt rubber smell

I have a 2000 Taurus SEL with just under 40,000 miles on it. I took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil change because I didn't want to brave the holiday traffic near the dealer.

When I got home there was a burnt rubber smell coming from under the hood. There's no smoke and no squealing. The serpentine belt "seems" okay. I can't imagine the Jiffy Lube Add-on specialists not trying to sell me a serp. belt if it was even remotely in need of one.

Any suggestions other than don't go to Jiffy Lube?

when you change the oil on the duratec, oil gets all over the exhaust pipe. They probably didn't bother wiping it off and its burning off. Don't worry, it'll finish burning and sludge up in a day or so.
