Driver Information Center help

Ive heard about this Driver Information Center on here. And Im thinking that the blank plate on my overhead console by the lights is where it is supposed to go for an option. My question is I have a 2002 LT that doesnt have this option and Im wanting to know is there anyway I could buy one off ebay or the chevy dealer and just hook the connections up myself. All I want to know is the MPG Im getting and maybe how many miles I have left until I have to fill up again. Maube take one out of a blazer or a impala and just find a way to wire it in also?

Or maybe someone could recommend a aftermarket that would work.

Thanks for any input.

Re: Dic

I've researched this option ALOT...

If you want the DIC and do not have the steering wheel controls then unless you have a MINIMUM of $1,000+ then you won't be able to get it.

You need to purchase a new steering wheel, wire the ENTIRE dashboard over again, you will possible need a new computer chip, and for the $1,000 investment the dealership gives you no guarantee that it will work.

I really wanted one too, but if you don't already have it, then your pretty much out of luck... bummer huh?
