95 xj sport tranny problems

Last night I went down to the local gas station, when leaving my jeep, "jumped" a few times until I reached like 25ish. This morning it was sluggish starting out... as if it only had 3rd and 4th gear? What could this be?? I went to the salvage yard and bought a tranny from a 91, when I went to move my jeep into the garage it seemed fine? I an lost. A friend told me to get a filter kit and flush it out since the fluid looks brownish. Could this fix it?? I drove the jeep to work this evening, and it drove ok, just didn't shift right... Any comments/suggestions?? please let me know asap...

You be amazed at how much trany fluid makes a difference. Change the fluid and filter and uhook the tran return line and empty in a bucket, run it through untill its clear -the color of new fluid. The right trany fluid solves alot of problems.
