Service Engine Code

I just had a code tripped on my 2000 Montana. I have the Auto X-ray code reader and if I remember right it was a code P1404?,something about the fuel system running open loop.I cleared the code but does anyone know what it means? It was a hard code and the light did not go off until I cleared the code.

Van runs fine and milage is normal....lower 20's.
Code has not come back since I cleared 2 days ago.
I have the old service manuals for my 97 Venture which covers 97-99 Venture,Montana and Olds, and no mention of this code in that manual.

So do I need to replace the EGR valve?

Is there any service or cleaning you can do to the EGR valve?

Thanks

Re: Service Engine Code

"a P1404 is an EGR code"

Reason I wrote it that way, I'm saying is an odd code. Since you cleared the code, hold off on doing anything, see if it comes back. No need to loose any sleep over it just yet
