Ignition Module

Does anyone know if an ignition module can be tested and how ? This is the module mounted on the engine itself on a 1998 4.3 Blazer.

it can be tested...i'm not sure of the procedure. I have the procedure in my Haynes manual. Try looking in a repair manual. If i remember correct it should show an infinite current.

Swap in a new one, if the problem is not fixed, install the old one and take back the new.

Re: Ignition Module

We bought a new one,( another $ 70.00 ), and put it in, still have the same problem as before. Wish we could take back whatever we don't use, but here, if it is electrical, you buy it you own it unless it is defective, in which case they will "replace" that item with the same. To many DIY were experimenting with items they had no knowledge of and would burn them up and take them back and ruined it for the rest of us. Now, it is pretty much a "Standard" operating practice in our area that all receipts and signs are posted that read " No returns on electrical parts". I'm the manager of a national warehouse distributing company and even in our business, all of our competition has adopted these polices. That is why these forums are so valuable because they help people from falling victim of the "Trail and Error" method. I appreciate any AND all suggestions, but, unfortunetly here, returning parts is not an option.
