Re: Low Beam Out

HEY----...Im Not sure about your problem...But I just had the ExACT thing happen to my 525i....I was going down the road...and the headlights just went out...I pulled over and the parking lights worked fine...But No HEADLIGHTS AT ALL...low or high.. I checked all the fuses...and pulled the relays in the fuse box out and back in....Got back in the car....LIGHTS WORKED AGAIN....Two hours later ...went to go to store...NO LIGHTS....SO Im wondering if it Might be a faulty Control switch. maybe?..well Good luck...and if you DO get some Info....could you email me at [email protected] I'll do the same for you I f you want...im going to hit these forums ALL OVER ...
Thanks
Don

Ok found something in the fuse box labelled LKL-B, gave it a wriggle and woble and now the lights are working. I think this might be the elusive headlight module. I also gave the prings in the cover that hold the modules down a bit more pressure by bending them.
Time will tell I will keep yuo posted on the result

Headlight module

Well the module failed again so I suppose the next step would be to remove it and check for dry solder joints. I tried to remove it and its seems that is is not just a normal plugin device. Without wanting to destroy the module I left it. Can anyone tell how to remove it with the correct tools and with damaging the unit

Re: Low Beam Out

The LKM will just pull up and out of the E box. It does have three seperate connector plugs fixed into the E box, but WIKK simply pull out with just the slightest of wiggling.

Re: Low Beam Out

By the way, the LMK and the Parking Lamp Monitor Relay are the most common cause of 'strange' lighting failures in E32's & E34's.

Lights Solution

Hi and thaks for the assistance with my problem. It was indeed the musule at fault and I removed it (with difficultyas it was tight) and found the offending dry solder joints. I re soldered the joints and replaced the module all is well. Thanks to all
