Talking will this setup sound nice

hey all i am looking at this setup for an 01 eclipse please let me know if this system should sound nice. two 10'' type r alpine subs with a 400 watt rockford amp and an alpine head unit. since i have a small car i think this would probably be enough for what i am looking to do what do you think.

i'm guessing he's using his stock speakers. but those subs are very nice, and maybe look into a more powerful amp. alpine makes great headunits so your good there. i'd recomend replacing the stock speakers also.

Re: will this setup sound nice

well since you're going for type R's even 400rms won't do

try anywhere between 500-800rms for those 2 subs

im running about 400 to my 12

my friend has a pair of type r 10's, and he's giving them a total of about 400watts, maybe alittle less, but when they are in his custom ported box, that me and a friend made for him, i think any more power could seriously damage them, but if you are going sealed, then look inot a bigger amp.

Re: will this setup sound nice

you could do a little better for the 600 dollar range. Get a pioneer (the first one w/ the oel i think its the 6400) or panasonic cq-c8100u for the head unit.....shouldn't be any more then 200 on ebay. For your subs get an re SE 15(200ish) and a hifonics brutus bx1500d(240ish shipped off ebay)
