I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy and I need to take all the paneling off so taht I can run the wires for my system. The bolt attaching the seat belt anchorage to the car needs to come off on all 4 seat belts in order to take the panels off. The bolt is a six-sided star. I can't find the right tool for it anywhere. Any suggestions and/or tips?

Re: Need Help Undoing Seat Belt Anchorage
These are called TORX sockets. You should be able to find them almost anywhere - even Sears. Get a good quality socket- these bolts are tight. Inferrier sockets will break.

Ummm....
When they installed my system they didn't need to remove them on my truck, why do you need to?

Where did they run your wires? Down the middle? I'm running the wires down the sides of the car for a couple reasons. 1- because I can keep various wires from being near one another. 2- because I can utilize free space down the sides of the car without having to alter anything or cut any carpet, etc..

Really??? Hmmm, how did they manage that without taking off the side panels? By the way, I looked at your ride.. Looks good bro..

I know what you mean. I would be able to do that, but I need to get at the entire wire(s). I'm taking out all the stock wiring and replacing it with better, bigger wire..

Re: Need Help Undoing Seat Belt Anchorage
I understand, but you don't have to go to big for the door speakers.
It will all fit behind without having to remove the whole panel. Think of it as one less thing to put back together when the job is done.

Well, I do have to go bigger than what's typically used because I upgraded the stock 6 1/2" speakers to a 10" in each door.
