2002 4runner factory alarm going crazy!!!
My wifes 2002 4-runner has a factory alarm. Here recently the alarm goes off and the horn honks 3 or 4 times. They are real short honks. The outburst only lasts for about a second. Tonight it seems like its doing it every hour for the past 3 or 4 hours. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all. But tonight, its getting on my nerves and I don't know where to start looking to solve this problem. Thanks for any help.

Re: 2002 4runner factory alarm going crazy!!!
Check the glass breakage sensor. The manuals say that if the sensitivity is turned up too high, it can make the alarm go off for no apparent reason. The reason I think its the GBS is the 3 short honks. Thats what happens when it's triggered. That's the only time I know of that the horn honks faster. Look up the type of security system you have and then look up "programming instructions for (insert system type here)" on yahoo or google. Good luck.
