Ordering parts

I have 1999 Jetta GL. However it is the old body style. I have an owners manual that shows the new style engine layout. I bought the Haynes manual that covers up through 1998. Is that a bad thing. When ordering parts, is it ok tell the parts store it is a 1998? I don't want them to think it is a new style 99 and get the wrong part. Any suggestions or input?

You have a 1999. (box style)
The new style is 1999.5

When ordering parts say you have the ABA motor.. thats the old style 2.0. The new style 2.0 is AEG or AVH in 1999.5
