Wink some kills..

so im driving home form work and im on the hi-way, doing 70 not that much over the speed limit, i see headlights approching me so i dont feel like abusing the poor car and wasting gass so i go into the middle lane, and 03 eclipse v6 flys by, it so happens he exits off the same exit as me, so im driving local now on my way home, and i see a nice golf 1.8t dropped with rims and a exhaust.. so i was like what the hell, mean while i forgot about the 03 eclipse who is now behind me, so i get along side of the 1.8t, at 20 hit the gas about 1/2 throttle in 2nd and let the ssqv do the talking, he takes the bait and masshes it, after i hear him get on it i downgear back into 2nd and go 75% throttle shifting at 5100 right before by turbo starts backing down by now im 1 car ahead doing about so usually id say f it and call it a day but for some reason i stood on it got to 70 and i was atleast 2 1/2 cars infront of him, i slowed down he pass with a nasty look on his face then the 03 elcipse get on my ass, so i just mash it in 3rd creep up about 3 cars and let off,
he gets the idea and stays behind me,

it was ither the bov of the backfire that scared him off. o0o well.. fun night..

i hope tat fixes his car soon i want another run at him, i think i can do better now i got alittle more top end i can hang past 60-70 now... it will be fun but hopefully ill get a chance at him before he tunes his car again, then i stand even less of a chance..

You could rering the pistons by removing the cylinder head, and oil pan, removing the connecting rods, and push the piston out the top. Also replace oil seals, head gasket, oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket. It's a ford, so parts should be cheap, and probably a Sunday in the garage should be enough.

Re: some kills..

I would compression test it. You may get lucky and it could just be valve stem seals. What weight oil are you running?

Agreed. If it just smokes at start up (after its set for awhile) and when you left off the gas, then more then likely its just valve stem seals, which isn't really that bad of a problem (and a lot easier fix then rings).

Re: some kills..

I have the same problem right now. Not such a bad thing. At least the valve stems are being lubricated well. I'm not too worried about it. Just a little smoke at startup and an occasional puff. No oil consumtion. The oil level hasn't dropped since I last changed it. Compression is still good. Good luck turbo2nr.
