Pearl white over metalic blue base?

I was wondering what should come out if i sprayed tamiya pearl white over tamiya metallic blue on my FD model. I have some pics of the car with a rough base coat. I am hoping that the result could be a pearl white with a bit of a blue effect in the pearl (sorry if im not coming across easily, the effect is hard to describe.)

heres a pic of the car right now...

thnx.

Re: Pearl white over metalic blue base?

Hey,

Sounds like a good idea. I have done it a few times. The result is very nice. Has a nice effect under different lights. If you use the gunze white pealr though, it gives the color a white transparent coat, almost like a colorshift, under certain lights.

don't slab on one deep coat, cause it will look stupid. Give it a few coats and it should look real nice

I think you are doing it backwards. Try a white base coat with a blue pearl.

You can get away with one or two light uniform coats of the pearl white on top. After that it looks like a mistake. Been there done that. I love to experiment... And you can't fix it by adding more pearl white at that point... - Mark
