Re: Map sensor i think HELP!

The bad MAP sensor gave me an engine warning 13..check the error code using the ignition on/off/on trick from the hayes manual.

Re: Map sensor i think HELP!

could be a faulty egr valve opening to soon, try unplugging it and plug the vacume line to test it.

Re: Map sensor i think HELP!

if you are looking at the engine from the drivers side fender, it is center with the throttle body, and down bolted to the intake manifold. Its round steel valve about 2.5" and just before it is the egr valve transducer, a round black plastic thing with vacume lines to the egr valve. Unplug the vacume line from the round black plastic valve and plug the line with a bolt or something so you won't have a vacum leak. Please let us know if it works,

Re: Map sensor i think HELP!

also, you may want to download the 88 factory shop manual from this site, some things are different for the 89 but not much, i use it for my 89 ltd. (the one with all the ugly gold crap all over it) the file is long, about 16meg.
