Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
for your temp problem i would first replace the thermostat and for your 2nd problem i would have the car scaned for codes (at either a dealership or autozone, autozone does it for free) after you get the codes it will more than likely will tell you what could be causing your sputtering

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
I took my car to an auto zone already and it wouldnt read any codes off of my car, he said that there is some electrical chip in cars like mine that block the scanner from picking up any codes.. I guess ill have to take it to a dealer...
I already replaced my thermostat.. unless there is more than one... is there? Im not very car savy! |

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
also when your temp gauge says 260 does the car smell hot? if you were to open the hood would it be a lot more hot than usual? btw does your car have a v8 or v6?

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
For the jumping or the sputtering might it be the fuel injectors or mabe even the fuel filter?

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
oh wait you have a 95.... thats right.... i used to have the same problem when scanning codes.... you need a special adapter for just that year....and no their is only one thermostat.....but make sure that you bled the lines of any air that possibly got into the lines when installing the thermostat...

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
v-6 no sometimes i dont think it is hot... the temp changes so fast that i dont think it is possible.. like with in 10 seconds it can go from185 to260 and back down again

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
sounds like a sensor malfunctioning or an electical problem... im not the guy to talk about as far as that.... atleast that should cost you less than if your car was actualy overheating...

Re: ????95camaro HELP!!!
i'm not totaly sure on a v6, but on an LT1 V8 their are 2 bleeders http://shbox.com/1/bleeders.jpg that will show you what to look for -Idle the engine and monitor the temp. If the temp goes abnormally high, you may have an air pocket. Open the bleeder screws after the thermostat is open to remove any air. Only a stream of coolant will come out when all air is gone and there will be no spitting or hissing.
Close screws and monitor the temp. this link will give you more information about your cooling system and sensors involved http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#cooling

No you're not overheating. You have a loose connection in the temperature gage circuit. This is a technically easy problem. However if the bad connection/part is behind the dash it's time consuming to repair. So lets start the easy half. Make sure you have a good connection under the hood at the temperature sensor. It is located on the left side of the engine block. . § §§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ REFUSE . TO . LOSE § §§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
