Re: key stuck in bonneville ignition

1. Try posting this in the Pontiac Bonneville sub forum unless a mod moves it there first.
2. I'm assuming you can get the gearshift all the way into 'Park' and you can rotate the key back to the proper 'Lock' position.
Likely your key and/or the lock cylinder is worn out. A locksmith can change the cylinder for you for less than $100 including the part. It requires removing the steering wheel and partially disassembling the column.

Re: key stuck in bonneville ignition

Replacing that lock cylinder is very easy. Only tricky part is removing the lock plate retaining ring if you do not have a holding tool for it. Places like AutoZone usually have tools they loan for free if you buy the part there. Once the wheel is off you remove the lock ring & the hazard flasher button. Now loosen the turn signal switch and lift up & out of the way. Now you can remove the lock cylinder holding screw and pull out the lock cylinder.
