'88 Suburban dead

I have an 88 5.7L Suburban. Over the last couple of weeks when I go to start it in the mornings it would click when I turn the ignition. I would back it off try a couple times and it would start and run fine. Today however it clicked every time and would not start. Eventually it stopped clicking. It does nothing now. Like a totally dead battery, but battery is good. Could it be neutral safety switch or the ignition switch? I need help. I am no good at diagnosing electrical probs. Anyone? Please help

Remove and replace the starter. The old turn key and get a click sound is a big GM problem.
If yor stuck have someone turn the ign key like they are trying to start the truck and you go and wack the starter with a hammer. Most times that will work to get it started to get home
