Unhappy Heater Help Needed ASAP!!!!

I cant get any air flow from my heater. The problem occured all at once. I can hear the fan speed change but the selector for heat/defrost/vent ect.. doesn't seem to do anything. There is a slight amount of heated air flowing at the floor level. I've taken lots of the dash apart and nothing has jumped out at me as a problem. Is there a filter that could be clogged? Is there a way to manually direct the air flow? Please offer any thoughts or suggestions as I'm driving from CA to WI in about a week and I'll need to have heat. 2000 Z71 Silverado LS, fully equiped 5.3

I am not sure where it is located, But there is a cabin filter on your truck that may be clogged.Lok in your owners manual and it should show you where it is.

Removed the filter and still very little to no air flow. Swapped control panel with a buddy, still have the problem. The little bit of air is hot. Any other suggestions or ideas?

Re: Heater Help Needed ASAP!!!!

Two Things:
First there is a small resistor under the dash toward the left on the passangers side. This went out on my 99 still had a little flow but the blower was not working properly.
Second, remove the blower motor and make sure everything is ok with it mine went bad.

Note: resistor is only available from the dealer about $20.00

Re: Heater Help Needed ASAP!!!!

My 90 silverado would not switch from floor to defog.it was the servo which was located by my gas pedal. It moves the doors to direct heat.Yours may be much different though due to 10yrs difference.Just a thought as you sound desperate

Re: Heater Help Needed ASAP!!!!

Due to time constraints took it to the dealer, he says it's the plenum door actuator and is changing it today, I hope he's right. Thanks much for all the responses.
