3 liter V6 (camry) engine swap for 93' MR-2

I have a 93' MR-2 Turbo, a few weeks ago the engine blew and now all the times of thinking of an engine swap came back to me. Last year I raced a 91' MR-2, I was running about 240 to the wheels with an upgraded turbo and I that guy left me and all I saw the whole race was the back of his car in the horizon .....After that I saw him at a gas station and I stoped to talk about his MR-2, it was sporting turbo badges but when he poped the hood (or trunk) I was surprised to see the engine compartment stuffed with an engine I havent seen in a MR-2 before. He told me it was a 3.0 liter V6 off a toyota camry (it was supercharged too). I want to know if this type of swap is possible to do on my 93 MR-2? and if possible how much (if any) diffrent mod's do I have to do to prepare my car for such a big engine?
Thanks ahead of time.

There are a few MR2s running around with the V6 swap with turbos and/or superchargers. I would expect to drop $3000 ~ $4000 on this job to have it done right.

only 3-4k...

i think that's a seriously low estimate... unless you are thinking of him doing all the work, and that just being the cost for parts... then maybe. i'd guess no less than 4000 for a decent job, and then a lot more for a GOOD job. Forced induction... add at least 3000.

Re: 3 liter V6 (camry) engine swap for 93' MR-2

Yea, I'm currently sourcing parts for my swap...starting with a turbo you're at an advantage with the turbo trans/axles.

I'm estimating about $3-3.5K in parts and probably close to 200 hours of my time (I'm a newbie at this mechanical stuffs). That seems to be the average cost for this swap WITHOUT the TRD supercharger...there are also a few variations of this in the works namely the current 3.3L avalon motor and a few aspirations to to the 2005 3.5L 280bhp avalon next gen motor.

Again, with supercharger you're looking at a pretty decent chunk of change. Good luck...also check out mr2oc.com for more info (under MKII>Hybrids)
