Got my GSX back. ran a few cars. (350z, RSX-S, 3G Eclipse 12sec Civic Hatch)
Well, I got my car back on Sunday from getting all my modifications put in finally and I’ve been looking for a good challenge for my car. The only race I’ve had since then was against a 350Z from a go. We when from about 20 and soon as the boost hit, (boost comes on at 4200 rpms…. Super turbo lag but I like it for daily driving) I put 1 ½ cars on him by the end of 1st gear and then a couple buses by the end of 3rd. I though that a 350Z would have been a better race from a go, especially cause I’m AWD, but nope. Not even close. Anyways, last night I took my car to the ontario races in hopes of racing someone in a vette or ss or something like that. Well, we I got to the meeting spot, there were only like 20 or so people there, All in civics and 3g clipses. I was kinda bummed and I was gonna go home until I saw my friend shane and his crew pull in. Shane has a Celica GTS with a few mods and he runs a crew called Zenocide. Well, turns out that Shane had also brought out a guy that wanted to race me since I got my new parts. I asked him what kinda car and he said Civic hatch. I told him that I'll race but I didn't want to launch it yet because the stuff was still kinda new and I didn't wanna risk breaking anything. He said that I might change my mind once I saw it and that he wanted me to meet him over on "______" street. I said cool and we took everyone to one of the tracks that we go to.
Once we got there, I parked my car up by the curb and was gonna get out and talk, when a 3G clipse pulls up to me and asks me to run him. I said Ok. He was a GS with intake and exhaust so I didn't launch the car. Well needless to say, I took him by too many buses to even count but he was cool though. Then after that race, a red RSX-S pulled up next to me and said he wanted to run. I said ok and told him I wasn't gonna lauch it on him either. I beat him too by like 6 buses but I have to say, that Vtec is not that bad in the higher rpms. Anyways, after that race, I finally got a chance to chill with shane and his crew. We talked for a little bit then the Civic hatch finally arrived. Now, I saw that thing and was like "Ok what's so special about that " I mean he looked and sounded like any other hatch I've seen. Then once everyone else noticed him, they all started comenting about how fast the hatch is. Once he got out the car, I went and talked to him abou his car. He told me he's running a fully built B18C5 engine (TYPE R) in the small ass civic hatchback and that he takes it to the track and runs 12's. I was like bullshit and then he showed me a slip. I couldn't believe it but it was true. The slip said 12.7! That bastard Shane set me up to race a 12 sec hatch! Then the RSX-S called out the hatch. I walked over to Shane and asked him if the really ran 12's. He said yeah and I was like "Well F*ck" The RSX-S lined up and started reving up while the hatch was lining up. Then the hatch stopped about 6 cars behind the RSX-S. He flashed his highs and told the flagger that he was ready. I thought to myself, oh hell no he isn't....... The flagger then dropped his arms and both cars took off. By the end of first, the hatch had about closed the gap he gave the type s. I was like OH SHIT. Then, end of second gear, the hatch had pulled about 2 bus lengths on the RSX-S. Buy the end of the run, the hatch had won by at least 4 buses . Everyone was stunned, including me. I mean damn, he gave him like 2 buses and still got him by like four or five. Well honestly, I was scared. Shane was right, I knew in order to beat him, I was gonna have to launch the car at the stutter box's 5 grand. After the race, We all talked for a little while longer but it started to get late. So, we decided to line em up. 12 sec hatch vs newly modded GSX. As I pulled up to the line, my heart was racing, I knew my car was fast but I wasn't sure if it could get the job done. Also, I had never launched it since I got the mods done so I wasn't sure how to fast to slip the clutch and everything since the stutter is at 5000 and the max boost is 4,200. But, oh well, It was time to learn now. My cousin decided he wanted to ride with me also...... great, extra weight but whatever. So, we line up and the flagger signals us. I floor it and watch the stutter box at work (it's pretty cool how that works). Then he rose his arms and I'm getting ancy. I hear the civic reving up on the right side of me. Then, I see the flagger flinch and I take off, my cousin the says "Ant he didn't go." so I turn around and line back up. The flagger tells me to watch his arms and that I jumped too early. I was like argh and I ready back up. The hatch then backs up and does a hugh burnout to heat up his slicks. The civic signals and I signal. The flagger then raises his arms and .......... BOOM, we both shoot off the line. I'm concentrating on playing with my clutch to keep the rpms up. Then I let off the clutch and I see my car pull away for the hatch. After I shift to second, I look back and I see him right on my bumper (Damn, could've launched better) Then, and second winds out, I pull him away from my bumper to make it a one full car lead (he's right on my ass ). Then I hit 3rd gear and it seems so long of a gear. He keeps me at only a one car lead. At the end of third gear, I flash my emergencys showing the end of the race then I let off the accelerator to let him catch up. But instead, he flys by me and flashes his lights. I'm like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We turn back around and I'm like what the hell man, why did you flash!?!?! You know I beat you. He says " Because I passed you." I say "Yeah becasue I let off man and flashed, the race was over." He says well, If thats true and you beat me, you wouldn't be afraid to race me again. I tell him well, I'm not. So we line back up. This time, we readied up and when the flagger dropped his arms, my car pulled over to the right and I almost hit the flagger (my bad) so I stop and turn around. The hatch took off and then saw me stop and turn around. He lined back up and said "Hey, don't stop if you get a bad launch." I told him what happened and he rolled his eyes. Then the flagger said " Who cares if you hit me, just keep going." So I ready up. The flagger signals both of us and then raises his arms. I'm ready to launch it, then I see the hatch take off before the flagger dropped his arms. I think WTF??? and then the flagger dropped his arms. I launch then and almost close the gap from his early launch but I don't, so I stay about at his rear quarter panel. I turn around and park the car. The hatch gets out of his car and walks to the flagger, (What a concidence, they're crew mates) I walk over and say, "What the F*ck!, you guys bitch on my early launch but when he does, no one says shit. They say "Well you have AWD man." I say ok then, that's how it is. Well he know he is slower than me , you know he's slower than me so what the f*ck ever. Then me and my cousin laugh. The driver of the hatch then says, Whatever we can race for money. And I tell him I'm not even gonna trip about it because we all know the truth. Then, the driver starts talking about how nice my car is and how I should run in the 12's because were so "evenly matched" (Yeah, asshole). Then he said he has direct port nitrous that he hasn't been timed on yet but he runs on the bottle when he bets money. Basicly, he got all nice and shit, trying to be my friend after I said I wouldn't trip because he knows the truth. So basiclly he got away with that BS early launch win because he didn't wanna race again unless it was for money. I hate that shit. Well, anyways, I can't wait till I get ready to up the boost on this bad boy because I'm only boosting 15 psi on a 60-1 turbo. Well I say, beating a 12 sec car on 15 psi is pretty good. nice kill..i kno a lot about people like that guy in the hatch.i raced a slightly modded 93 si hatch..he got a early launch and beat my by a finnder,the second time i did a powerbrake launch at the same time as he launched and smoked him,then he says its cause his brother was in the car.

Yeah. I hate people like that. But the other people just sat there quietly when I beat him the first time. Then when he launched early, they all were and his side with the "You have AWD" thing. But what do you expect, they all from the same crew. But just like I told him, they all know the truth. When we launched together I won.

dont even worry about it.people like that just have a huge ego and do shit like that to make it look like they can beat u.if he really had nos im sure he woulda sprayed when he was a car behind u,instead of doin his lil flyby flash hazards shit.then the whole early launchin thing was kinda expected,that shows he knows ur superior and he cant win.

Thats one of the best race stories I have ever read! Nice kills! If they wanna b**** about the AWD the second time when he started early why didn't they do it the first time when you guys started even and you beat him. They know you would have beat him every time.

well just think about it this way. his 12.7 second 1/4 mile should be with his nitrous on. unless he really is a true street racer and hides his true power, ,and that 12.7 was not his fastest run at the track. then yeah you'll have trouble. but i honestly think that the 12.7 seconds was done on spray.
also how big is that shot of nitrous that hes running? since hes running direct port on a n/a, i really don't see the need for that unless hes running a really big shot of juice. you have a 2nd gen DSM with that kind of turbo running 15 psi, you should be in the low 12's with a good driver.

I think there's a guy like that in every town really. Good race stories though. I think we need to see a video of the Z vs. AWD Eclipse (i know i want to)
Maybe next time race that guy at the track though. That way you know when to finish and everyone can see the little lights light up to show that you won fair and square. |

i have a friend w/ a 60trim turbo on his 6bolt GS Turbo, that thing is FRICKIN HUGE in that little car
props to you for burning a hatch civic w/ a type R motor...lightweight good power like that and you need awd on that heavy car to get anywhere agaisnt it

He said he hasn't been timed with the nitrous on. He said that the 12.7 was all motor. Honestly I think he was capable of 12's all motor (Watching him beat that Rsx-S was pretty bad). But I know and so does he that the GSX is faster. He such a punk though because afterwards when we were talking, he admitted that my car was faster but he didn't say anything like that when his crew was around. I don't care though. Anyways redneck, I plan on taking you up on your offer. I was planning on comming out to the Z meet in January. Hopefully I'll have my dvd camcorder with me too (from santa) so we can show everybody else too. Of course , if I lose though , the dvd might mysteriously disappear
. Just joking. But yeah, when is the meet again?

You should have just designated a finish line. Then neither person can designate when the race is over. Just ask him to race you at the track. Nice runs BTW. Even nicer car.
