1994 Ranger Wipers Problems

Took a 3 hour drive a few weeks ago in the rain. Wipers were set on intermittent. I noticed about 2.5 hours into the drive that the wipers would sometimes catch, or hesitate slightly, almost a jerky movement. If If I shut the wipers off they would stop where they were at and not park themselves. Wipers work fine in low and high speed settings, they just do not park themselves when shut off, and intermittent setting sometimes produce results described above. Any ideas where I can start with this?

Thanks in Advance,
Raymond

Re: 1994 Ranger Wipers Problems

I had the same problems and mine finally quit in the middle of a rain shower, believe it might be the wiper motor, not to expensive and you can do it yourself with a little patience.

Would this problem also be related to them just "coming on" after disconnecting the battery? Mine's a 1990 XLT.
