engine rpm's
Asked this on the dodge stratus site and didn't get an answer so I thought I would see if anyone here can help. Kid has a 2002 Stratus R/T with the 3L in it. This is the Mistu 3L with an automatic. My question is what rpm's do your cars turn going down the rode? I ask because we went on a trip over the weekend and we noticed that at 75mph it was running a little under 3000rpm's. Thought this was high, but maybe not. We also had our 2002 Bonneville along and it was turning 2000 at 75.

Re: engine rpm's
at 75 mph i'm running close to 3k as well, i think at 70 it was 2.5k but not totally sure, i do remember my friend's car constantly being in the boost when he was driving in his GS-T (above 3k rpm) but he drove like a bat out of hell

Well, considering the Car redlines a little over 6K rpm, I dont see anything wrong with 3K at 75. At about 85 im running about 3200, and still get real good mpg highway. In the city i get about 21 on 92 octain gas, with my last trip to Chicago getting me anywhere from 30-33mpg on the same gas. If you still think that only 3k rpm is high change your hear ratios to be longer in 5th. I dont really see any problem with how they are set up now, unless you are trying for a land speed record...Thats just what im thinking. Anyone else smellin what i'm steppin in?
