Re: D16a6 n Zc
Well, technically, I've seen d series motors running over 400 horse (one was a supercharged one). But if you are talking n/a then not enough - you'd be hard pressed to get about 180 out of either. Turbo/supercharged i'd say max around 450.

a 160-180 hp d16a6 will have very high compression, like 12:1. It will not idle good because of a big cam and it will get lower gas milage. It would be a race motor. You dont need that much horsepower in a lightweight d series. Put a cam in your a6 and get a header. Then get nitrous or turbo it.
Oh by the way, that is a nice 4door i like your mods.

go to exospeed.com. They sell race heads and cams, all kinds of stuff for the a6. He builds crazy a6's.

If you are wanting a peppy engine the build your A6. I have a Y8 that I am building mid compression (10.5:1) and low boost. So it should be pretty quick. I'm not looking to build a race car though. Again it just depends on what your goals are. Then we can go from there.
