Hi All,
I have 1 1991 2 wheel drive pick up that needs drivers side upper control arm bushings replaced. But I have the control arm that has welded bushings. My Haynes manual says that if they are welded you have to replace the whole control arm assy. Has anyone out there had to do this? Is there an easier way? I have been searching the internet and have not found a control arm assembly. Anyone know where to get one? Thanks, Bob |

Re: 1991 upper control arm
Mine were welded too. I just replaced the control arm with ones that weren't welded. I got them from the junk yard for 50 a piece. Our local mechanic said that he could cut the welds with a die grinder like a dremel tool or something, but it was cheaper and easier to change the ones on my 88 with used control arms off a wrecked C/K, they are the same from 88 to 95 2wd 1500 and 2500. Mine on my 88 1500 are off a 94 2500.
