stuck in park
Had to have the 2003 TB LT EXT towed again to the dealer for locking in park. when you turn the car off, the battery light comes on and somewhere there is a chime that sounds. They thought it was due to the electrical something of the steering column. this was replaced last time. Needless to say, the car locked up in park 3 days later. When it gets to the dealer, they have no problems getting it out of park. It stays locked up for about 20-30 min. They have never been able to get it to lock up. Could this be a computer problem? this TB has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. Any ideas?

does this car start. The vehicle will only shift from park when the brake is applied. There is a sensor that the brake light switch is connected to at the transmission that is activated when you step on the brake. Either one can have intermittent failure. Also ask your dealer for all the TSB's {Techmical Service Bulletins} on your vehicle as well as Recalls you might find something there.

The car does start. I guess one of those might be failing. The idea of the TSB's is something I hadn't thought of. thanks. |
