no brake lights on 89 chevy 4x4
i pulled a trailer earlier last week and the truck sat awhile when i took it the other day no brake lights fuse is fine in dash i replaced the brake switch uder the dash still wont work im getting power to the switch but none out i replaced the switch again and still nothing if i jump a wire from power to the switch to the one going to the brake lights they work so wiring back to the lights is fine whats up with the switch

Sounds like a problem I had. Make sure your connection at the wiring harness under the bed is good. After pulling a trailer and using the harness, wires/connections can come loose and affect the tail lights.

If you havn't already, test the switch outside the truck.
B+ --> switch --> light --> B- (run a wire from the positive terminal to a switch, hook a light up to the switch, and connect that to ground) If it works not hooked up, make sure it is adjusted right and if the switch has to be grounded, make sure it is. Also, make sure that it is the right switch, most have 2 or more switches (brake lights and cruise control shutoff). It probably is the right switch, but you never know what the computer is gonna do to you.
