Stereo Cutout

I have a 1997 ford taurus and when i put my car into reverse the radio stop working. The radio is still on but it doesnt play any music then when i put the car in drive it plays music again. what could be wrong with it

I read in other posts that a bad vehical speed sensor will cause this to happen.

I think you mean it is the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) that is the cause, not the VSS.
