driftin' spyder

all right so the other night me and a few friends went out drifting in the snow...just went around to some parking lots...anyway when we got to the rear of the mall, there was a section of dry land, then it turned into snow....so i started off, hit around 45, got to the snow and yanked the e-brake and cut the wheel...fun fun, but then my car died. tranny was in neutral too...when i came to almost a stop, the car started rolling backwards and the rpms got real low and the motor just stopped...tried to start it and it wouldn't start....checked under the hood - nothing could be found to cause it to shut off...so my friend told me to kiss the steering wheel then try starting it lol...so i did, and the fuckin car started right up....so we went to another parking lot, had a few drifts, then the damn car shut off again and wouldn't start...waited a good 5min, still wouldn't start...so my friend kissed the dash and turned the key...started up. i don't fucking get it and it freaked me out, heh...why the hell would my engine cut off during drifts and won't start back up again? we at least until something in the car is kissed, but that's just fucked up...i'm thinking my car is posessed or something...what's even more weid is when i beat the fuck out of my car, it seems to run better....but when i change the oil, or wash/clean it, it always acts up....

anyone have any ideas of why my car shuts off every now and then when i drift?

well one thing im thinkin...maybe with all the hard G's your pulling ure shutting off your fuel, i know alot of cars have switches that are flipped by wieght distrubution in a car. and maybe its just taking some time to get fuel back into your engine. i dunno just my 2 cents of a thought.

Re: driftin' spyder

i wonder what would happen if you stuck your yoo-hoo in the gas tank hole

i would guess that you may be getting air into the system pulling g's. turning it over a few times probably purges it...

Re: driftin' spyder

hahahah...i think its because you dont have your foot on the clutch while in the "drift" mode. Some times in a drift, ya gots to balance the car while in "drift" mode. I drift up here in Minnesota..where theres LOTS of snow, but drift (pull the E-Brake) in my bro's Manual Accord, i did that some times, letting go of the clutch while in first gear...and i obviously kno why it died on me one 1st gear. So then i tried it while going neutral during an e-brake, first i go to neutral, e-brake, while drifting, i shift to 1st or 2nd gear and there i go...onto the curb...without making the car die. So, i think its just up to how good ya gotta balance the car while in the drift. Hey, i suck at drifting in snow, but dam is it fun pulling the e-brake.

Re: driftin' spyder

Your venting...RECIRCULATE THE BOV. Its not good for our cars to vent unless you are running the blow thru setup. It'll hurt your gas milage too.

Re: driftin' spyder

Believe it or not, sliding around in the snow will rattle your battery cables sometimes enough to cause a touchy connection. It happened to me in my two winter cars. try that.

Re: driftin' spyder

i think the gas tank idea is cool... how much gas did u have... i agree it might be a problem with u not haveing enough gas getting to ur engine... i think u car likes it rough get it some black leather and maby like the club or a boot
