Best motor for price??

What is the best motor I can put in a 95 tercel for around $1000 (for the motor and parts). I'll do the swap myself, just need to know what other motors will fit and what other parts are needed to swap. I just need more power - stock isn't fast enough.

Thanks

For that $$ i think all you can do is put in a paseo 5e which has 10 hps more , after that probably the jdm 5efhe and then the 4efte but both of these are past your 1000 dollar budget
