Cool new GReddy stuff

as some of the old timers know in here i like GReddy. i'm not affraid to say it. i like GReddy.

so i'm getting the new Profec S-Type and the new Type-RS BOV.

i will have the the EBC by this weekend and the BOV is in the mail [ebay, like 185ish] so i will update the thread then.

the new Profec is like the old A with the power and electronics updated to the newest standards.

Re: new GReddy stuff

as far as the BOV is concerned, i got mine for 180 off ebay, new. type-s BOV's go for about 90-100 on there used. so really you can get it for much cheaper than that if you do it like that.

my type-s is going on the Jetta GLI

Re: new GReddy stuff

OK, got the new GReddy Type-S EBC.

I LIKE THIS EBC.

tuning is almost instant. you floor it in third and just twist the knob to the boost you want. then you adjust the gain to just below where it doesn't spike. done. and it is intelligent. full dial on the low boost yields about 1 bar, and the high boost is strictly for higher boost levels, i got 1.3 bar from about 2/3 turn. the boost response is great, with no delays getting to full boost and sticking there.

total time to tune: 5 min.

5 out of 5 stars.

there is no LCD, so i got a 60mm peak/hold boost gauge to go with it. the B2 had that function. also i had the B2 set on PSI to get a good reference and now i'm all kg/cm2. no big deal.

the vac line for it bas initially pinched, but it was a quick fix. when all the wires were zip tied the line got pinched. so be carefull about that.

Re: new GReddy stuff

Vince, I knew GReddy made a Type-R BOV...didnt know about the Type- RS. are you really running that much boost, or was it just time for a change?

Re: new GReddy stuff

ya i just got a new one and gave my old one to my Mom, so pics are comming soon.

ya the Type-RS is new, not as big as the Type-R, and a bit bigger than the Type-S. the exit is a bit like the RFL [like a horn shape]. it should be in my hands within a week or so [ebay, and xmas shipping may be slow]. full report and updates to follow.
