Reccomended Preformence Parts For a 99 Blazer 4.3L

Hi, I'm kind of a new commer in this carzy world or cars and trucks. I have inherrited(sp) my dad's last company car. Its a 1999 Blazer four door, two wheel drive, 4.3L Vortec V6, and has ~120K miles. I'm not shure of the full specs of the engine and what not but I want to tweak it to get more horsepower out of it. I'd like to do body mods and what-not but I don't have the tools, space, or funds to do any of them. I have read most of the threads here and have understood a couple of things. Get a new exaust system, new air intake (cold air I belive), and a new cat(?) system. So since I'm kind of new I'm not shure of what good quality parts to get or who to get them from. I know the name brand stuff like K&N, Ram Air, Flowmaster, Gibson, ect. but I'm not 'in the know' on what most people use in thier own car. So I figured this is a good place to start. So I ask what compaines, and parts from them, are known to work?

Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can get this project off the ground.

---
Matt

1.) Complete Tuneup

2.) Ravin Z33 or flowmaster 40 Muffler.

3.) Ebay intake.

4.) High flow cat if you really need to replace it. But muffler should always be done first.

Remember, always work on the exhaust before you add an intake.

Ok I have gotten alist of parts, so far.
AEM Brute Force air intake
Ravin Z-33 Exaust
Hypertech Power Programer
This seems like a 40-50 horse power upgrade by just compareing the numbers on the fact sheat. Now if this gets the approval, from you guys here and my dad (lol), hopefully I can get my plazer project started.

BlazerLT,

A quick question. Why do you always stress to get the exhaust done first? What would happen if someone did the intake first and then the exhaust? Just wondering....

Thanks!!

Because there is no reason to put an intake on with a stock restrictive exhaust, you won't see any difference.

An engine is just a glorified air pump, if you want it to intake more air, you have to make sure it can get rid of it faster too.

The exhaust is much more restrictive than the intake hence the length of it and the huge restrictive stock muffler.
