94 dakota 2.5l truck doesnt start
I was driving on the freeway when my truck died. There is no fire to the coil. I replaced the coil, the rotor, and the pickup coil and still my truck is not starting. I heard it might be the crankshaft position sensor. I dont know where that part is located either. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thanks

dakota not starting...
my 94 (v8) has a similar problem, although after a few minutes
it starts and runs fine (until the next time). I am not sure, but I think my problem was the camshaft sensor (trigger) that is inside the distributor. I had no codes set, asked the dealer (no help), and finally out of frustration started replacing known problematic components. The crank sensor was repaced and didn't help (does anyone know why that useless gadget was added to the engine?). Checked all the relays, wire harness, fuses, and finally (after some discussion with a parts dealer)replaced the camshaft sensor. So far (crossed fingers) the truck has been running great for 3 weeks!! (No thanks to the chrysler folks). Good luck! |
