Will not Accellerate properly

Can anyone help me with my 93 PA SC? My car idles great, sounds like new. When I go to accellerate past about 30 mph it shakes and hesitates and sometimes stalls out. The tack will also redline on me and even after I take my foot off the gas the tack stays very high.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and what I can do to fix it?

Re: Will not Accellerate properly

to eliminate the worst fear of all...transmission..go through all the gears first and see if it shifts through properly..then go into the coil pack, ignition wires, sensors(oxygen etc)...it can be any number of things...does it do this all the time?

ok, first of all, when you say the tach redlines, does the motor acually race to redline or is the gauge just staying there? If the gauge stays there, your problems sound like a on board computer gone bad. If voltage drops or dies off, the car will just stay in whatever gear its in at the time and all the gauges freeze. So if power is good, then I would suspect the ECM ( computer ). disconnect the battery for a while, and then re-connect it and see what happens. Give us more details on what the motor does and if there are any warning lights etc.
