speaker noise

can anybody give me any ideas as to how to stop the noise caused by the screen that covers the speakers. mine makes a vibrating rattling noise particularly when there is a lot of bass. short of no bass or turning it down....neither is an option. is there any tricks out there some one has come up with?

Nigel.....no i know the speaker is not blown and i can put my leg or hand on the screen and the noise stops. so as far as i can figure is will just be a matter of stopping the screen from vibrating to stop the noise.just how ?

Re: speaker noise

Try taking the door panel off and tweaking the metal tabs on the Speaker grate in the door. It is possible that they have worked loose. If you bend them straight out then the Metal grate comes off so I would believe that if you bent it further in that it would make it tighter on the door. Also, Make sure all the screws that hold your speakers on are tight. And check everything else that is bolted to the door. It could be a linkage or a handle that's loose as well.

No special tools are needed, but the door panel lifts straight up after removing screws. It has L brackets not the usual christmas tree fasteners.
