ok i got the exhaust mani off...still cant break the seal on the 2 bolts holding the pipe on...ok other than being highly illegal in any state, can i drive this thing a couple blocks withouth the exhaust manifold on...so i can get someone with air tools to take it off? or will it shoot flames all over my engine bay or something weird i didnt know about?

Re: New exhaust manifold/ downpipe HELP

Take some PB Blaster to the bolts, a torch, or drill them out.

Re: New exhaust manifold/ downpipe HELP

it might shoot flames out of the engine. when i put my engine back in i fired it up before i put on the exhaust manifold just for a second and it shot flames out (sounded pretty cool too). to get those bolts out i would take a torch and heat them up until they are red and then they should just turn right out with no problems at all. otherwise i would use PB Blaster and spray the bolts down a couple times and let it soak in good between spraying the bolts, maybe even a couple hrs, that might help but the torch will be the easiest. also you were talking about an air tool, an air tool would probably just strip the heads of the bolts making it near impossible to remove them then.

PB Blaster might work. Let it sit for a few. If not then get a torch and heat them up. Then try to just break them, you can alway replace it with a bolt and nut.
