Car Starter - Best one out there?

I just had a crimestoppers starter and it stopped working this morning. I feel like getting another one, which is the best?

Re: Car Starter - Best one out there?

I'm throwing this out there as another recommendation. Years ago I used to see a lot of vehicles in the shop with various problems that started when the owner installed a new remote car starter in the vehicle. Back then, many of the ones on the market were not reliable and caused issues with many cars. GM even came out with a statement in their owners manuals about the risks of installing one and they did not recommend it. I personally told myself after seeing al the problems that I wouldn't put one in my own vehicle. Well times and opinions change. Shortly after my wife and I bought our first 1997 Venture she wanted one. I kept her at bay telling her of what I saw in the past and kept saying "No." She wore me down and about 2 years later I got her one installed for Christmas. Worst mistake I could've done at the time. First, the company that installed it went bankrupt and closed,( they were a good company, had been around since 1927- who knew they would close like that?)Then all of these electrical problems developed. Once I would get one fixed another one would rear it's ugly head. I finally resolved most of the issues a couple of years after that.
Fast forward to 2006. We had purchased a 2006 Uplander and I found out that GM now put remote starters from the factory in some of their vehicles. Although mine did not come with one, I am planning on putting one in from the dealer this summer. It will cost me a little bit more, but knowing GM is all right with putting them in themselves, I tend to trust their mechanics knowing their way around my vehicle's electrical system. Plus if there are any issues, I can take it back to the dealer, unlike many of the people I saw ten, fifteen years ago who had trouble getting their dealer to fix any problems caused by the installation of an aftermarket remote starter. I've seen some dealers refuse to even get involved back then. Times and opinions have changed and I'm glad GM now put them in their vehicles,(sure is handy on a hot day or when it's -30 degrees outside)Call your dealer and see if they install or have a factory remote starter for your vehicle and compare the prices with the other aftermarket ones out there.
