99 with anti-theft key
Hi,
I bought a used '99 LHS with the anti-theft chip in the key. But I only received one key, and the dealer wants an arm and a leg to cut and program a new key. Is there a source for blank keys out there that I could then get a lock smith to cut a dup? I believe there are instruction in the operators manual on how to program a new key when you have an existing key. Anyone familiar with this? Thanks... Len |

i bought my 01' LHS with only 1 key. I bought a blank transponder key off of eBay for $15, and had the dealer program it for $45. Still quite a bit of money for a second key, but cheaper than the $100+ the dealer wanted in the first place.
Once you have 2 keys that work, you can program more by yourself. I belive instructions are in the owner's manual. Otherwise i'll have to look them up...
