Re: daytime lights
1. Check DRL fuse. 2. Parking brake on inhibits DRL's.
3. DRL module and diod (seperate) under dash. 4. Rear lights are not a function of the DRL system. They only come on when light switch is on. 98 K2500 7.4..............Steve |

This is just a quick component check and assumes no open or shorted wiring. The DRL Troubleshooter has 22 steps. Spent 2 hrs researching this for you guys and I hope it helps........Steve |

Try reactivating the DRL
Found this in the online manual for your year Suburban. Thought I'd pass it along. Hope it helps.
When necessary, you may turn off the Automatic Headlamp System and the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) feature by following these steps. When the system is turned off, the headlights will not automatically come on when it becomes dark outside. As with any vehicle, you should turn on the regular headlamp system when you need it. 1. Turn the ignition to RUN. 2. Press the DOME OVERRIDE button four times within six seconds. After the fourth press of the button, a chime will sound informing you the system is off. The system will revert back to the automatic mode when the ignition is turned off and on again. 3. To return to the automatic mode, push the DOME OVERRIDE button four times within six seconds (the chime will sound), or turn the ignition off and on again. As with any vehicle, you should turn on the regular headlamp system when you need it. I have a 2001 and I accidentally found out how to turn off the DRL and i looked in the manual to see if this was a published feature. |

Re: daytime lights
Where is the Dome Override button? Is it the "Dome Lights Off" button by the headlamp switch?

Re: daytime lights
I have a 2004 Suburban. My daytime running lights no longer comes on, instead my headlights now comes on day and night. I can turn the headlights off during the day but the DRL's do not come on. I replaced the bulbs without success. Any ideas on how to get the DRL's working again?
