The article did say that they could have saved a PORTION of his finger; maybe when they showed him how much they could save he decided it wasn't worth it.

Also, says something about how much his marriage means to him.

Does suck though. Tough decision.

I understand the sentiment...I also understand fingers don't grow back...And having the ring restored gives them a nice excuse to renew their vows...but maybe the guy would be intact for the ceremony...duh!
