Unhappy Throtle Body Problems

I HAVE A '96 PASSATT WITH AN ENGINE LIGHT ON. TOOK IT TO HAVE IT SCANED RESULTS ARE THAT THE THROTLE POSITION SENSOR ON THE THROTLE BODY HAS FAILED.. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT THE TPS SENSOR IS NOT SOLD SEPARATLY FROM THE THROTLE BODY, AT A COST OF $376. DLS.. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THAT COULD HELP ME FIND ONE THAT IS USED OR REFURBISHED OR ARE THESE PART ADJUSTABLE

I don't know if I would buy a used sensor. You may get into the same problem you have now. Have you tried sensor cleaner?

Re: Throtle Body Problems

Would it be possible to change the throttle body to an updated one that has a replaceable TPS? I found sensors for later years without the entire unit.

VW sells A throttle body because the TPS is integrated into the throttle body itself.
