Ok. Its finals week. I have to get home for the holidays. I am in some serious need for help here. My 94 Magnum v6 has recently dropped oil pressure out of the blue and and almost instantly goes to a loud knocking sound. as I slowly creep it back to the dorm lot it doesnt get any better. Added oil, didnt help. had an oil change back in Sept and added same grade oil at that. when I go to start it up the next day the oil pressure will resume properly for a short period of time and will just instantly drop again. It is as if there is a blockage that settles while the truck if off and during use slowly clogs up the flow of oil. Now I here of these sludge problems all of the time and I have already put a new oil pump and had a mechanic clean out the blockage already for 200 bucks! Is it anything me and my newbie brain cant handle?

Re: Help! Stranded broke college kid tryin to get home for Xmas '94.... oil problem.
Well if you trying to get back for Christmas '94 you missed it already buddy.
Sorry I shouldn't mess with you when you need help like this. I don't really know what to tell you though, you said you had a mechanic clean out the blockage, so that means that there was one maybe there's more. |

Re: Help! Stranded broke college kid tryin to get home for Xmas '94.... oil problem.
That sounds like exactly what my 94 ram v6 was doin when the oil pump went out, check it out, just because you got a new one recently doesnt mean that the oil pump cant be the problem. Plus if the pump is under warranty then you might be able to get it replaced for free. Good luck man.
