shiva sub, what amp?

ok, I think I am going to take SR20's advice and go with the shiva sub, on adire audios web page it says the shiva only needs something like 60rms, so if this is true that would only be like a 200watt total power amp. What would be a good amp that is low cost to get? Also one concern i have is installing this, I have never done it before, how hard would it be to install amp, and sub for a total novice. Also I couldn't find it on the web page but does anyone know Adire Audio's warranty on the Shiva, also please recommend a amp that has a good warranty. Thanks, Aaron

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

Well they can get moving on 60rms, but they can definitely use more. I would go closer to 300rms or so. Profile's CA/AP lines are supposed to be pretty decent for the price, the AP600 would probably work well.

I believe Adire has a 3yr warranty

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

yes, 60w will make it hit pretty well, but 300 will make it bottom out its suspension.

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

well 300 will allow you to push it that far, but you don't have to, that's what you want really, headroom

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

hey sr20, would this amp be a better deal than the AP600, it is the same price, and has 450W bridged rms output. It is the profile CL600

http://www.thezeb.com/p-Profile-CL60...ier-103513.htm

or would one of these be better,

http://www.thezeb.com/p-Profile-AP10...ier-109688.htm

http://www.thezeb.com/p-Hifonics-Fal...ier-106501.htm

Also how come the original price on the CL600 is more than the original price on the AP1000, does it have extra features? I know you recommended Hifonics before for good low price amps. Would this be better for $5 more than the CL600? I appreciate all the help.

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

I would take the hifonics before the profiles, especially the profile clarius

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

Thanks sr20, so I getting the shiva sub the hifonics amp, any suggestions on where to get an enclosure, or what style would be best, I driive a 95 300zxTT so there is not a whole lot of room in the hatch back. Also any other accesories that I will need to pick up? I going to have a guy from my work help me install who used to work for a customization shop, so install should go o.k. Once again I appreciate all the suggestions, recommendations, and advice.

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

if you have the room go ported, but it doesn't sound like you do so sealed might be a better option. Somewhere around 1.5cf would work well

That is TOTALLY box dependant. A big box yes it could but it would take a LOT more power to bottom out the driver and slam its suspension in a smaller box.

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

I think I had also heard somewhere that Power Acoustik made good amps, would I be better off going with this...

http://www.thezeb.com/p-Power-Acoust...ier-103327.htm

instead of the hifonics, it has 460rms watts mono which I believe means when its bridged, and is only $5.00 more, or is the hifonics still better. What is the max RMS on the hifonics, can i bridge it, it doesn't say in the description. Lastly should I just jump up to this one, is it worth the extra $30...

http://www.thezeb.com/p-Power-Acoust...ier-103322.htm

does it have any extra features that are beneficial?

Re: shiva sub, what amp?

Also would one of these be a good box to go with,

http://www.subzoneusa.com/12_zv_series.htm

I was thinking either the 1.5cf of the 2cf. The 1.5cf goes for $107ish and the 2cf is only like $5 more, would I get better sound out of the 2cf. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
