new tires

i just put new tires (Kumho ASX 245/50/16). I was wondering do all new tires slip. i have NO TRACTION on brand new tires. i Had better traction on my slick kuhmo 711s and those arnt "ultra-high perormance" like these are supposed to be. ( i only have less then 20 miles on these tires)

depends on the compound in youre tire ( hard or soft) a soft tire like a good year eagle zr rated like i have is very soft therfore sticks to the pave so more power gets to the ground. thats the good part,,the bad part is that they don't last very long so very expensive to run....a hard tire however lasts longer but will spin easier given the same road conditions..just depends on what you want lasts long or not..

Re: new tires

I have the exact same tires on my 99Z. For the first 100 miles or so, the were so-so, then from there to about 5000 miles they hokked pretty well. ( I did get my best 60ft time on these tires, but it could have been the track prep) Now I have about 8000 miles on them and they do slip alot on dry pavement. Still really good i rain, which is what I bought them for. If I had it to do again, I would have paid the extra$$$ for the Dunlop Sp5000 that I had on before. They were great tires, and I got about 45,000 miles out of them. Somehow, I don't think I'm gonna get that much from the Kuhmo's
