Manual Transmission Help

Howdy Folks.

I have a 98 accord lx. It runs good except when its warm and I try to change the gears, the clutch becomees free and my gear box becomes jammed.

For example, it happens if I try to do a tight 3 point turning. The gears become locked and don't change. Pumping the clutch doesn't help. The clutch becomes free. I turn the car off and then back on and it becomes ok.. until the next time I need to reverse.

Highways is perfect since I don't need to change the gears at all :-)

the car has 80K miles and I had the clutch replaced at 67K (which seems awfully soon for a honda). The problem didn't go away after replacing the clutch.

Help..

Hmmm It could be quite a fiew things...

1:Problem: Pedal travels to floor - no pressure or very little resistance.

-possible causes: 1: No fluid in the clutch fluid reservoir
2: Faulty cluts master cylinder, release cylinder
or hydraulic line.
3: Broken release bearing or fork

2: Problem: Unable to select gears

-possible causes: 1: Faulty transaxle
2: Faulty clutch disc
3: Release lever and bearing not assembled properly
4: Faulty pressure plate
5: Pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts loose

I took these troubleshooting symtomps from my repair manual...
I hope it helps ... good luck!
