rear door not latching

I have a 2002 lt Z71 4-door. My rear passenger door won't latch unless you slam it a couple of times.just the bottom latch the top one latches everytime! @ dealers have checked it out and made adjustments but still the same thing trucks still under warranty and don't know what to do! Any suggestions are welcome!

Re: rear door not latching

Get the dealer to replace the latch and hook assembly. That's a safety Issue for sure. If the Dealer won't do anything about it, perhaps you can go to your Insurance agent and explain the problem maybe they can suggest something. IE a claim of some sort.

I don't know how many times you've taken it back to the dealer, but keep taking it back until they fix it! You could try another dealer. There is definately something that's causing the door to not latch and they should be able to find it. Tell them you want to talk to a GM rep. You insurance man can't help you on this, unless you have a claim, which you don't.

Make it clear to the rep. that this is a safety concern, and that you want it fixed, period. Leave the truck with them until you are satisfied.

True but the whiney customer gets the sugar in the gas tank :-) I definitely wouldn't leave it with them after repeated visits and complaints even if it was only visit #2.

That was the 2nd time. Each @ different dealers! I contacted a GM rep today and they called the service manager and I have a appt. tommorrow to get it looked @. Hopefully they will come up with something. The rep is gonna follow up on friday to see if I'm satisfied if not it will go back again and again! Thanks for the replies guys! Plus the body shop kinda acted like he didn't really care about it and just left me standing in the parking lot as he walked off with a customer. She was told all about that!
