turbo for 05 type-s
i have a 05 rsx type-s i wanted a turbo for it, but my friend knows a guy that had a turbo rsx and his engine died on him after 30,000 miles. he was a daily driver. a lot of people said that you gotta rebuild the engine. costing well over $5000 including the turbo kit. confirm? or can anyone else prove them wrong?

a quality turbo kit should cost right around $5,000. An engine rebuild isnt neccessary if the rings, seals, etc are 'in check.' If your going to be running high boost levels, you may want to consider some forged pistons. What kind of fuel management was your friend running? Was it dyno tuned? All these things can make a difference in the life of an engine.
