As this has been said in every post about "Which car would win" It all depends on the driver. A horrible driver driving a ford gt could lose to a (I cant believe in about to say it) a good driver driving a kia. Also it would depend on what you are trying to win, a car that runs a 10 sec 1/4 probably wouldnt be a great car in autocross....so to put it simply, I would win...

Stock for stock? The GT will beat the RSX off the line and makes max hp and torque before the RSX will, but if the race were long enough and speeds high enough (considering the driver is competent) you might catch up. I'd most likely bet on the Eclipse, though. That being said, for a 4 vs. 6 cylinder race, the RSX stands up well.

From a roll def. the RSX, from a stop it'll still be the RSX.

heh it takes the gt over 7 seconds to get to 60mph how fast is a rsx type-s to 60?

Mid 6's for the RSX. Car and driver hit 6.1 as did one or two other magazines, but most people get mid to high 6s. MSN Autos originally got 8.6 seconds and the fat, bald guy reviewing it said it was very fast
 Musta pissed his diapers and slammed on the brakes.

I'm pretty surprised the GT has a slower quarter mile seeing as how it has slightly more hp and better torque. Did I read the right specs?

The 2000 Eclipse GT makes 205hp and torque...but I would assume that it weighs a good amount more...and its mitsubishi...

The GT might make slighty better numbers at peak but the rsx might make more during the powerband where it matters.
Also power to weight ratio comes into play. If anything the GT is gonna be good up top not down low. I have raced a few GT's from a roll and a stop, a slow roll and stop I just pull away hard from a higher speed roll is where they hang and I slowly walk away.

Yup. Went back and checked curb weight of the GT. It's got about 500 lbs. on the RSX. Fatass Mitsubishi...
My mother has a Spyder GTS. If that sucker has a few pounds on the RSX, you'd hardly know it. Built like sh*t, but a lot of fun to drive.

I had heard that the next generation eclipse was getting Mitsubishis 3.8L 265hp V6 and an electric motor in the back....any truth?
