Multi-Plate Racing Clutch?

Ok I've returned from months being away.
For those of u who were here then, you prolly saw the threads about my Turbo Integra b18c1. Having to sell it and buy a new one.

Well anyways ive finally baught a new motor and need a clutch worth 500+hp I've been looking at the Multi-Plate Racing Clutchs and wouldnt really know the first thing about the installation process, driveability, and anything else I would need to know... Does anyone have experience with Multi-Plate clutches? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks... glad to be back.

Re: Multi-Plate Racing Clutch?

HAHA, ya i have alot of experience with triple plate clutches in turismo. I would say its not fully necessary, I would go with something like a 6 or 4 puck clutch

While you're at it, why not throw in one of those sequential shifters and tell us what you think. I've never heard from someone who had one in their teg.

Re: Multi-Plate Racing Clutch?

usually 6 puck clutchs hold around 400 and some odd hp, i gotta get something over that, my motor was dyno'd at 510hp so far. It is running with a t3/t4 Hybrid Turbo. At some odd pounds. I wasnt actually there when it happened cause the guy that Dyno'd it lives in Cali.

Re: Multi-Plate Racing Clutch?

clutches actualy hold torque not hp and a 4 puck should be enough depending on disc material what were the dyno numgers for torque i think the plate has just as much to do with the holding power of the clutch i gaurentee ACT has a clutch kit that with hold all the power you can throw at it.

Re: Multi-Plate Racing Clutch?

Yeah I had a ACT clutch when I was running 7lbs, it was only a Stage 2 Sprung clutch. I was lookin at the 6 pucks but i think on average its specs for that clutch was 408 ft./lbs of torque and for Cars making around 400hp. As for the torque that was made I got no clue once its all done and finished I'm sure ill post the actual printouts.
