anybody know why my windows doesnt work?

hello and thank you for reading my questions.

I just recently had an accident, my front was u can say totalled!!! anyways i had the car parked in my driveway with the battery disconneced(so it doesnt die out). now my windows doesnt work at all!. you think its the accident that caused it? or the disconnecting and connecting of the battery that may have damaged something like the ecu. i checked all the fuses and theyre all fine! IF U KNOW, HELP ME OUT! thanks!!!

well im assuming the hit was pretty bad... and sorry to hear about it. Did did the window work after the accident at all? if it did then the motor might not have been damaged.

If it didnt them im thinking maybe the motor somehow was damaged on impact?

Now also if it was working after the accident, since i dont know how long it was sitting there, but maybe it rained on the car and some water got inside the door and damaged the motor? maybe the door shell was bent and made a gap between the window and the door window seal?

it all depends if it worked after the accident fine or not at all...

YES it was working after the accident, then just all of a sudden it doesnt anymore. even the fan doesnt even work anymore! i cant pinpoint the problem, it has to be something electrical. is there like a car shop that specializes on electrical problems on cars?

well yea there are many shops, dealers and little shops, you might wanna look in yellow pages...

its hard to pin point what it could be...
try to figure out what works and what doesnt, then all the things that dont work see if they are all connected together in any way, like do they all lead to one wire or do the same fuse? you will need the 240 electrical diogram for this, and you can also use the voltage reader and see where you stop getting electricity... its a tough subject to talk about not knowing much about what works and what doesnt and this and that...

taking it to a shop is probably ur best bet

what about the seat belts??? do they still work.when i wrecked my first 240 the seat belts stopped workin then one day out of the blue(while i was messin with it pullin off parts ) the windows stoppped workin and just about eveything else that was eletrical. i found a shorted wire that had apparently been pinched from the accident then burnd through and shorted the system over time. you might wanna start lookin for something like that somewher ...... and not nessesarily(spelling sorry im a little high) near the point of impact....mine ws on the oppisite side of the car

sorry if this was irrelevant but i just had to say it. you said you disconnected the battery after you parked your car... if you have power windows... how is it going to operate without any power supply? but then again if your 240 is like mine w/o power windows sorry for stating the obvious.

Wiring isn't hard and why pay a shop? First pull off the door handle and check the connections. Fixing problems yourself allows you to know your car better. Go to your local bookstore. They have some complete maintenance books. I have one and so should you.

oh and i'd agree with him when he says take your own car apart cause you'll learn more about it.. but if you get in trouble, you can seriously fuck shit up so don't do anything stupid

By the way doing stupid shit is always fun. When I had my Ford EXP, changing my exaust manifold was hilarious. Before we get into that, it broke due to some fun abuse. What I thought I ran over was a box spring matress. I thought it was a regular matress. So yes, it took me 2 months to find a replacement. Then when it came to taking the manifold out, it split into 7 peices. No lie LOL. I was just in shock. Oh and never trie to cut t a bolt from the bottom of the manifold with a sawsall. Those things jump. I poked hundreds of holes in my starter lol. Oh, and I was 17 at the time so I was pretty dumb then.
